A note from Carolyn...

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year, and to thank you all for making my first year on line such a tremendous success. Somehow, you've found me in the vast internet world, and I'm grateful for all of your recommendations, referrals and loyalty. Wonderful things are on the horizon!

Who is Carolyn Koslen?

The lush earth tones, delicate beadwork, and shimmering ocean hues found in Carolyn Koslen's uniquely personal designs are an apt reflection of the woman herself. A free spirit who draws inspiration from the ocean near her home, she meticulously recreates the delicacy and beauty she sees in the natural world around her. But Carolyn’s designs, stunning as they are, lack the fragility of other fine jewelry. With their bold colors and relaxed elegance, they are infinitely touchable; substantial works that convey the power and grace of the woman who wears them. For Carolyn, who drew upon previously untapped reserves of courage and strength after a devastating car accident in 2002, it couldn’t be any other way.

Carolyn was born into the world of jewelry design thanks to her mother Judi, a recreational director who taught beading to children as a creative outlet. With this artistic background to inspire her, Carolyn moved to Los Angeles to work in the field of television and film, a path which eventually lead her back home to Miami. It was there while working for “CSI: Miami” that Carolyn was seriously injured. A year of intense physical therapy followed, and during that time Judi made a suggestion: why not make jewelry as a distraction from the pain and tedium of healing?

What began as a leisurely diversion soon blossomed into a life-altering passion. Driven to learn more about her art, Carolyn soon stumbled across a concept which would not only influence her work but deepen her spiritual beliefs. Sacred Geometry was first explained to her when she began designing rings, and this powerful theory regarding the creation and energy of thought now informs every one of her designs, a gift of spirit she hopes will not only inspire her customers, but enrich their lives.

Carolyn explains it simply: “The number 5 is for protection. That is why God put 5 fingers on our hands, because he wants us to protect the information of our souls. The number 7 is for healing and absorption, and is a very special spiritual number and a powerful carrier wave for energy. Nine is for prosperity, arriving, and finality. It is a very powerful combination to wear when you want more wealth in your life. Twelve is a circle of God, and when you have 12, the One is always implied. Sixteen, or 7 + 9, is the Ultimate Carrier Wave to the other world, and it gives you the number of gold, which is the number of God. It is a "key" to other worlds. United, 16, will give you such powerful energy that no negative can enter.”

Not surprisingly, clients often find themselves drawn to particular pieces whose “numbers” correlate to what they need or desire in their lives. It is just one way Carolyn hopes her work will support her customers the way it supported her through a trying passage in her life.

In her efforts to make the world a little more beautiful, Carolyn also makes helping those in need a top priority, donating 50% of her profits on select items to The American Red Cross – Disaster Relief, The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and the Susan G. Komen and Children’s Charities.

Women ranging from stylish moms to sophisticated businesswomen and A-list red carpet walkers have responded to Carolyn’s artful, stylish designs. Woven through each piece is not only the power of sacred geometry, but a vision of the strength and beauty that is a facet of not only their designer, but of all women, everywhere.
